The hidden power of < table >

Most webdevelopers favour div / css over <table> for various reasons. <table> even got the reputation of beeing evil / unstylish / archaic. I think they all dont know the hidden power of tables... :) - watch this:

click here to watch the included content

What would a nerd do with an iPhone?

... naturally take it apart to see whats inside. Before you do the same thing with your iPhone (and also naturally not be able to assamble it again without some parts beeing left over) have a look here: iphone disassembly

Tea Ceremony

Hello,

today we had a small tea ceremony in our shared flat. It was a quite interesting experience . With some time and small talk we tasted 4 different kinds of oolong teas. We also learned a lot about tea qualities, leaves, tea regions, fermentation etc. I was never a big fan of tea drinking but i definitely enjoyed this evening.

<a style="display:block;text-align:center;float: left" uri="media://m100/storage/3809510" href="http://fischi.my.nero.com/blog/3810730" title="
tee2.jpg
"><a style="display:block;text-align:center;float: left" uri="media://m100/storage/3809490" href="http://fischi.my.nero.com/blog/3810730" title="
tee1.jpg

this was
">

X-Mas Special: Gingerbread House

<a style="display:block;text-align:center;float: left" uri="media://m100/storage/2281590" href="http://fischi.my.nero.com/blog/428531" title="
haus4.jpg
">In a (admittedly extremely desperate) attempt to find some creative, sweet, lovely, present i decided to resurrect some old tradition of baking a gingerbread house. The tradition originates from the witch house of the "Hänsel and Gretel" tale from the Brothers Grimm. Also tradition is that the house is made before x-mas (which my parents did when we were young) and that the whole thing would be brought down after x-mas eve and not to be touched before (ähm, which we never did - it was just too tempting to test some little bits and pices you thought noone would notice them missing... but i guess the not touching part is more of a theoretical
thingy).

<a style="display:block;text-align:center;float: left" uri="media://m100/storage/2281580" href="http://fischi.my.nero.com/blog/428531" title="
haus_1.jpg
">So naively i organized the recepie - which was easy.
I constructed and drew some templates - actually i wanted to start with a 3 story villa, with pillars, a pool etc. but rethinking the whole project i rather started with a small cabin (but hey wait until next year...). After downgrading to the cabin this task was also fairly easy..

<a style="display:block;text-align:center;float: left" uri="media://m100/storage/2281610" href="http://fischi.my.nero.com/blog/428531" title="
haus_3.jpg
">I Went to get some cooking gear...
Started baking the pieces...
Went again shopping to get the stuff i forgot the last time
Continued baking
Went again... (okok the next time i will read the recepie to the end and check for cooking gear in our kitchen before starting)

<a style="display:block;text-align:center;float: left" uri="media://m100/storage/2281600" href="http://fischi.my.nero.com/blog/428531" title="
haus_2.jpg
">Started the construction...
And found out that the glue is not as good as cement which requires a lot of patience and some additional tools..

<a style="display:block;text-align:center;float: left" uri="media://m100/storage/2281620" href="http://fischi.my.nero.com/blog/428531" title="
haus5.jpg
">But eventually i arrived at the fun part - the decoration....

... i am pretty sure the decoration will not make it until x-mas...

Barcelona rules

Hola,

I just came back from some perfect holidays. We stayed close to Barcelona and i have to admit its the perfect spot to be. I just loved that place. The mixture of mountains, sea and a big beautiful pulsing city allows you to spend your time with a big diversity of activities.

We did have excelent climbing in various spots around Barcelona (i will write more details about the areas later).

We spent a couple of days on the beach enjoying the nice tempratures and even went for swimming (unbeliveable considering the current freezing tempratures here in Germany).

We also did some culture when visiting Barcelona twice to see the most obvious (first time visitors) tourist attractions.

And did some shopping and more shopping and even more shopping - there are miles and miles of small alleys with one shop next to each other - just like shopping heaven. If there wasnt the 15Kg luagage limitation by the airline i guess it would have been the most expensive holidays of my lifetime... but after fitting all the climbing gear into the backpack there was fortenutally not too much room left...

I will post some fotos here once the feature is available :)

Muchos besos,

Michael
